The Family Laundromat opened in 1996; We are located in the Town; Country Shopping Center in West Chester, PA. Michael Pfister founded the laundromat with the hopes of offering a place for families to do their laundry efficiently and economically. Michael strongly believed in 3 pillars to help make the Family Laundromat the best laundromat in the area: Cleanliness, Customer Service, and a Family Friendly Environment.
In addition, he always sought to stay ahead of the curve by adding the newest payment systems for the convenience of his customers as well as adding one of the few laundromat solar panel systems in the United State to help conserve energy use for the benefit of our planet. After nearly 25 years, Michael sold the laundromat to Vinnie Patel. One of the key reasons Michael chose to sell to Vinnie was that they share the same vision and values for the laundromat.
Vinnie was born and raised in Lansdale, PA and graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Supply Chain Management. He worked in the field for about a year but realized his passion was to own his own business. After valuable experience gained from businesses in food service and real estate, Vinnie began to explore the laundromat industry which led to meeting Michael and the eventual ownership transition. Vinnie works at the laundromat on a regular basis and consults with Michael on how to improve the standard of the laundromat to provide the best experience for our loyal customers. With all that being said, the true heartbeat of the Family Laundromat is our amazing team of attendants. Nancy, Vickie, Zandra, and Karen have nearly 50 years of combined experience at our laundromat and strive to provide the best experience to our customers on a daily basis. They lead our efforts in upholding our values of Cleanliness, Customer Service, and a Family Friendly Environment.
